If you are anything like me, all it takes is one few chapters of a good book and I am sucked into the author’s whole library for good. If you are like me, but have not found those authors yet, you are in for a treat today. Let me introduce you to some authors that are my must read authors!
Helena Hunting
Let me tell you something about Helena Hunting. She was my introduction to sports romance books, specifically hockey romance. As someone who loves sports and is a new hockey fan, I never thought to combine my two interests, until I saw one of her books recommended. Her Pucked series had me non stop binging for days until I caught up with what she had released which at the time was A Favor for a Favor. Since then, I am constantly waiting on any update I can get about her upcoming books (looking at you for BJ’s book, Helena). If you want to know a little bit more about her Pucked series, you can read my reviews and synopsis here (insert link). Helena truly opened my mind to the world of sports romance and I will forever be grateful. My bank account on the other hand is not so thankful. You keep writing those masterpieces and I will keep reading them.
Becka Mack
Oh boy, if you have never read Becka Mack, you are in for a treat. I have no idea how I stumbled upon her work, but I sure am thankful I did. Her Playing for Keeps series has had me in a chokehold since I read the first few chapters of Consider Me. Trust me, I have texts to my sister urging her to read it because I knew she would be just as obsessed as I am. Carter Beckett is a top tier book boyfriend that I do not know how he will ever be topped. Her writing style is one of my favorites and is very bingeable. The length of her books was a bit intimidating for me at first, but they are worth every single word. The extra length and detail in her books bring something special to them. You truly get to see the relationship grow and is more unique than other books than I have read. I enjoy the extra context and the little moments that make it even better to read. I am waiting (im)patiently for Adam’s book because he may be the only character to rival Carter Beckett as top book boyfriend and I cannot wait to read about him.
Elsie Silver
I read all of her releases within a week. Seriously, within a week I read all of her Gold Rush Ranch and Chestnut Springs Series. I was able to finish all of her books right as Heartless was released and let me tell you what a mighty good man Daddy Cade is. Her small town romance world with those perfect characters truly gives you the feels. Her fictional world is like Hallmark if Hallmark was spicy. As you will notice I have a big theme for most of the books I read. I read a lot of sports romance, and to go outside of my norm was an adventure for me, but Elsie sure made it worth it. There is something with her writing style that makes for such an enjoyable read. With complex characters that are easy to read and great pacing of the storyline, it is easy to see why her books can be binge read so easily. Just another author for me to be begging for her next release. I will be honest that I have not started Jasper's book yet, as I am finishing another series, but I am more than ready for this hockey hunk!
Liz Tomforde
The storytelling that Liz is able to pull off with her writing is remarkable. I was hooked from the first chapter of Becoming Selfish series. The representation she had in Mile High was *chef’s kisses* and made reading her writing even better. I felt like she did such a good job at having accurate representation without the book being completely about it. She still focused on romance but let her characters be more realistic human beings. The friendships she was able to create in her series makes the books even more enjoyable. I love a good romance, but a found family just moves the series into next level status. The way you do not have to let go of the OG couple yet, but it is not all about them is such a fun way to keep me invested. Her books do a good job of that balance of not letting the side characters overpower the main characters but they still feel important to the story.
These are just a few of my must read authors. I hope you enjoy their books as much as I do. Comment & let me know your must read authors.
